Having come from the flatlands, I have distinct memories of planning my day to avoid ascending to Geschw-Scholl-Str more than once. But what a view from my bedroom window! I also remember a great trip to Prague.
Life doesn't bring us quite what we'd predict. I never taught German, but I did teach Spanish for a semester at UNC-Chapel Hill in 2006 while a grad student in Economics.
My brother, Jim, who was resident director, spent most of his career in Germany and Austria as a pastor and recently retired to Southern California.
I am sorry to report that Rick Judy passed away a couple of years back.
