Hokusei Gakuen University
BCA Sapporo introduces students to Japanese culture and offers an intensive language program. For beginning Japanese students, courses are in English (or in Japanese with a translator). Students who have adequate Japanese can enroll in regular courses at Hokusei Gakuen University.
The University has worked with BCA since 1988 to provide the best cultural immersion experience for students interested in learning more about Japanese language and culture. Hokusei has a student enrollment of about 6,000 and offers courses in English literature, social work, information management, economics, and business. Independent study options are encouraged and supported, and internships are available.
In addition to the courses offered by the university, BCA students are required to spend 12 credit hours per week in Japanese language instruction. Students must study intensively outside of class, particularly to memorize Japanese characters.
Libraries and Computer Labs
The school library is open from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. every day except national and school holidays. The library has a number of computers available for student use.
